Communications

Ohio PHCC publishes a quarterly magazine, Ohio PHC Contractor, and monthly bulletin, "State Report," both providing Ohio information on code issues, legislation, regulations, plus calendar of events and opportunities for continuing education that affect the Ohio PHC Contractor. PHCC-NA distributes a monthly "Connection" with current information about tool box item specials, calendar of events, and special notes regarding national activities. PHCC Online is sent every Monday to all members via e-mail; the PHCC-Alert is e-mailed as needed with urgent information and requests for action. The PAC Report contains federal legislation information affecting the PHC Contractor; the Legislative Alert will soon be added for grassroots support of legislation pending before your national legislators.

 Legislation

Members actively monitor legislation and work diligently on issues that affect the plumbing-heating-cooling industry. Ohio's PHCC supported HB434, statewide licensing for 4-family & above construction in the trades of plumbing, hydronics, hvac, refrigeration and electric. Ohio PHCC has excellent relationships with OCILB including members serving on the licensing boards.
Your PHCC association leaders and staff lobbyists participate in annual legislation conferences and meetings with legislators and regulatory officials on issues of concern to PHC contractors. These issues include OSHA reform, unfair utility competition, mandated employee benefits, association health plans and a wide variety of small business employment and tax issues.
PHCC Ohio is a partner with (Air Conditioning Contractors of America) ACCA-Ohio in the Specialty Contractors Coalition. Legislative agents monitor Ohio's General Assembly and speak up with the help of our members to support or refine legislation affecting our membership.

 Fair Utility Practices

PHCC is part of coalitions on the state and national levels working toward maintaining a fair competitive playing field for all plumbing, heating, and cooling businesses through efforts to prevent cross subsidization of revenue by utilities in their deregulation design. Every member is encouraged to support this effort through testimonials submitted to the Association and to your Legislator as well as financial contributions to the P.A.C. (Political Action Committee)
